White House Deletes Effects of Global Warming

If you don’t like the scientific findings on the negative impact of global warming, just edit them so they’re not nearly as bothersome as originally stated by the director of the CDC(Centers for Disease Control). According to an Associated Press article, that’s what the White House did when presented with testimony to be presented before a congressional committee responsible for drafting global warming legislation. The original report outlined serious public health concerns, such as acceleration of particular diseases, as a result of temperature increases and rising sea levels which are commonly cited as negative effects of global warming. While it’s customary for the White House to review such testimony prior to presentation, it is said that this report was literally gutted – reduced to half its original length with potentially alarming phrases chopped out. Overall it appears the goal was to neutralize the original and soften the blow it may have made full throttle. The unclipped report threatened a wake-up call by painting a potentially nasty picture of how conducive a breeding ground a warmer world would be for diseases, such as malaria and cholera, along with others sparked by severe weather like hurricanes that have become more frequent and more devastating with recent temperature increases. Just think about how easily germs spread in a humid, stuffy subway train or how quickly a cold passes between coworkers in a warm office & that's the mini-model of a warmer world. That’s not a pretty picture and it’s not exactly the image Bush’s clan wants whirling through the minds of those sitting on a congressional committee responsible for drafting environmental legislation. It’d risk exposing him for the fake environmentalist he is when he surely would veto any bill that threatened the pollution party he’s allowed his industrial friends to conduct while he’s been in charge of the door. He’s been so consistent in muttering a load of crap about how much he cares about the environment yet we’ve yet to seen any steps taken to prove he really cares. Instead just eliminate the threat – not of global warming but the threat posed by politicians who might expect W to put his actions where his mouth is and send him bills that’d prompt action to curtail the consistent negligent behavior. His friends of industry wouldn’t like that too much so he can’t let that happen. Therefore the best solution is to simply keep the scary scientific findings from the politicians and more importantly from the public. Public tax dollars fund the research of the CDC’s reports but the White House thinks it has the right to edit them to their liking. Come to think of it, the White House thinks it has the right to do whatever it damn well pleases. Does that sound democratic? The White House censors a scientific report by government scientists to suit the Bush agenda. What the fak is that? Is that how democracy works? But then again, I’d never accuse this administration of practicing democracy as I’m well aware of the definition and they sure as hell don’t practice it. Therefore I’m wondering, if we erase particular findings does that mean they’re not true? Shall I simply toss away my electric bill in summer because I don’t like it and I won’t have to pay it? Will that work? Can you eat mountains of fudge and not worry about the fat or calories if you deny their existence? This is what’s happening. Instead of taking proper steps to eliminate or lessen the effects – the very real effects - of global warming, the Bush administration literally eliminates the effects by deleting threats from scientific reports because they can. Hit the delete key and we no longer have to worry about it. Wow, that was easy! Why didn’t Al Gore think of that? This is how W’s people are working on the global warming issue folks. They said they were and we didn’t believe them but see they are, in fact, hard at work at eliminating the issue. Remember, they’re VERY concerned and are taking action to solve the problem. We need not worry because they’ve got us covered with a groundbreaking solution: ignore it. Global warming is merely a myth. Isn’t that the BS they’re peddling? I guess it goes along with Bush’s approach to everything. Keep telling yourself you’re acting in the best interest of America, and it becomes true. Keep saying we’re winning the war in Iraq, and the clusterfak you’ve created is a victory rather than a fiasco. Keep saying nuclear as if it’s spelled ‘nucUlar,’ and maybe people will start to believe Webster’s got it wrong. That is the philosophy here or should I say propaganda? Say it enough and it becomes true.

Positive thinking works. I no longer must worry for our planet. Huge sigh of relief! Everything is ok. There is no threat to us or future generations because the Bush administration says so and they’ve never lied to us before. I know I’ll sleep much better tonight, won’t you?
