Genuflection Rejection

Last week, I heard some local morning radio show
personalities interviewing a U.S. Army official about the U.S. Army’s 233th
birthday. Interjected into the discussion about the ongoing local
celebratory events was the usual stream of military propaganda painting the U.S.
military as the world’s savior. Mr. Army Official bragged about the 170,000 new
recruits that voluntarily signed up despite the general public’s disapproval

When Religion Claims a Friend

Tragically I must report I’m mourning the loss of my oldest
and dearest friend’s brain – not to illness or accident but rather to religion.
Yes, I’m beside myself with grief over the news that my once logical, sensible,
intelligent, parallel-thinking friend has fallen prey to societal pressures and
joined a Catholic church. OH THE HORROR! What’s even worse is that she actually
believes this is good for her and will make her a better person. I’m still
trying to figure out what was wrong with the person she already was. Upon

Oh, what a world Daddy!

First of all, I would like to apologise to all of our regular readers (are there any?) about the lack of action from our part. We haven't written anything for quite some time now. I personally blame the weather. After a long, cold and miserable winter, spring is finally here. That means that it is time to get out, try to have some fun, feel like a normal human being.

A birthday and a funeral

First of all let me wish Happy New Year and all the best for the future to our reader(s). We haven't abandoned this site but the Xmas vacation gave us an awesome opportunity to have a break from many things including blogging and thinking about the stupidity around us. Of course, the latter was not that easy because even if I wanted to relax with a nice cup of coffee (or frape) under the Greek sun overlooking the Parthenon, stupidity and bigotry were surrounding me. After all, these traits are universal and they know no boundaries.

Jingle Bells, WhattheFAK style

Dashing through the desert
In one big closed pipe
Through the fields it goes
They’re screwing us all tonight
Money in Dubya's pocket
Taking biz shares high
They’ll send us a big rocket
Their end is very nigh

Oh, jingle bells, Dubya smells
Rice laid an egg
All together, let us beg
To stop the infidels
Are we approaching the end of the West's innovative era?

Ask a 10 year old kid what he or she wants to be when they grow up, and I bet that the top answers include: doctor, teacher, astronaut. Ask a 17 year old kid, and I bet that these words are hardly mentioned. The reason is simple. All of those professions require science credits. In general, science classes like physics, maths and biology have always been difficult and require dedication and enthusiasm from the students.

Ever see these bumper stickers like ‘Kiss me, I’m Irish’ or
a kitchen magnet boasting: ‘I’m not only perfect, I’m also Italian!’? I see
these far and wide across America

stop these people and demand a birth certificate as proof. Prove to me you’re

Big Hummers and Silicon Breasts

These days I am on holidays in Athens, Greece. I haven't been there for over a year and since a good friend was getting married, I thought it was finally the time to fly across the Atlantic. For people who have travelled on both sides of that ocean, several things become apparent. In general, Europe is more expensive and things are smaller. Houses are smaller and of course cars are smaller. In general, vehicles with engines over 1.8-2.0 Lt are considered big. We have Renaults, Fiats, Scodas.
