Do you want to get some Va1grA pills? Would you like to increase the size of your penis? You always wanted to get a ROLEX but you cannot afford it. No problem! Get a replica. Perhaps you will become an instant millionaire by replying to the last e-mail you received from Nigeria. Your long lost cousin died and you were the only one with the same surname the barrister could find to pass along his fortune. Lucky you!
Most of us have experienced the problem of spam. We all receive hundreds of e-mails per day, trying to lure us into buying things on-line or sending our bank details. It is a big issue and a million-dollar industry for all sides. The 'dark' side of the force is getting rich by sending millions of spams per day and hijacking our PCs. The 'dodgy' on-line sites associated with spammers get rich by having some users clicking on that link to get their goodies. The 'good' side is getting rich by selling us anti-spam software. Sometimes I think that all sides are 'in bed' together.
However, has anybody ever thought why spamming has become such a big problem? After all, this is yet another money-making endeavour, albeit a dodgy one. The main reason for its existence is the sheer stupidity and incompetence of the PC users. Do they really think that by providing their bank details to an anonymous person from Nigeria they will receive one million dollars? If you ask me, I think that they deserve to be ripped off. Not only that, but they should pay damages to their banks as well.
We should stop blaming the poor spammers who just try to make a living. How many people or establishments/organisations are out there trying to 'milk' the innocent and the stupid? For God's sake, even our own governments are doing that. It has always happened and it will continue to happen. This is called evolution and survival of the fittest. The clever will prey on the stupid.
But for all of us who hate spam because it clutters our inbox, the WhattheFAK site is launching a new campaign. Enough is enough with all the incompetent Windows (and MAC) users. (LINUX users are bright enough by definition.) If you cannot use a PC then do not. You should prove that you understand the basics of a computer and the Internet. The CD tray is not a coffee coaster. The PC, just like any other equipment with power supply, requires electricity to operate. The Internet is not just a collection of porn photos of your favourite animal. The e-mail won't make you rich unless you use it for business purposes. Nobody will give you a million dollars. WAKE UP. There is no Santa Claus.
Would you drive a car without a license? Perhaps some rednecks would, but most of us have to pass tests. Of course, it is not a perfect system. Car accidents will always take place, a lot of them because of sheer stupidity. However, can you imagine how many more accidents we would have if it were not for the tests? That is why, we propose a similar requirement to own and operate a PC. If you want to be a proud owner of a PC, then you must pass a test. You should also have to pay a yearly tax and insurance.
For that purpose, we should all write to our governments. Let us send a letter to our Senator / MP / Dictator / Comrade / Priest, requesting the introduction of the Computer User Driving License (CUDLi). Explaim to them that enough is enough with stupid computer users.
DOWN WITH SPAM. DOWN WITH NEGATIVE IQ. If you are not capable of using a computer, then don't. Play with your goat instead.
Thanks for 'listening.'
