Irony is often cruel especially when it carries a potential health hazard like the recently recalled lead-contaminated lunchboxes made in.............where else but China.
How ironic that these particular lunchboxes were distributed by the state of California as part of a campaign to promote healthy eating.
So much for that idea!
Apparently the Chinese manufacturers don't mind the potential brain damage your children may suffer if exposed to lead-paint. What's a little lead paint mom and dad? Stop being so protective! I know, nothing to be concerned about, right? No big surprise to see yet another recall on Chinese-manufactured goods as it's becoming a daily event from toys to cribs to lunchboxes but when just about everything is made in China, what do we expect?
You've got to love the cavalier attitude of the Chinese government in response. The vice commerce minister blaming the stringent new standards rather than Chinese quality control. Say that again Gao b/c I don't think I heard you correctly. Does this word 'quality' even exist in the Chinese language I often wonder. That's rich! It's not the product - it's the standards!
Yeah, that explains it. I guess it's ridiculous to expect cribs that don't suffocate babies or lead-free lunchboxes or dogfood that won't kill my dog. I know I'm demanding but after feeding my dog, I prefer he remains alive, hence the reason we feed him to begin with. Of course we all know how much the Chinese think of dogs or people for that matter.
